Whiskers On Kittens

It's been a fun week - apart from the dental work, the oral surgery and the nausea inducing pain killers, I've had fun!

The family Pipe have managed to get a park visit in pretty much every day (and avoided an ant infestation at one park, which made me think of how great and under-appreciated film Phase IV is), gym visits, eating well, all those living things have been flowing along quite nicely!

Apart from the general euphoric sense of my life being wonderful and my immediate family being quite simply the best, three things have made me happy this week:

1. abebooks, a fantastic, cheap 2nd hand book site, which feels like a cross between browsing in some dusty old store which you've just discovered is just over the road from where you live, and having a hippy library open near-by. Use it, search for things, you won't be disappointed. Unless you are. I can't vouch for all of you...

2. The Treatment, which this week had Lloyd Kaufman as a guest. A funny, lively interview from the other side of the film making world. As a kid who grew up with a father who had no sense when choosing videos for the families weekend entertainment, I know a thing or two about the "quality" of Trauma's movies!

3. The Punisher, issue #5, I picked this up on a whim, and was delighted with the sparse writing, the fantastic story-telling art and the general sense of fun in the comic - everything what comics should be!

Right, I need some water, my head is spinning from pills, and I need to try and bring my temperature down...urgh!
